In October 1948 an inaugural meeting was convened in Edinburgh with the purpose of forming a separate club for the breed in Scotland. Application to the Kennel Club was supported by the Midland Boxer Club (founded '48) and guaranteed 100%. This was approved and in March '49 and the Scottish Boxer Club was granted official status by the Kennel Club.
The club holds a number of events throughout the year for boxer enthusiasts.
